What the Sandhills Alumni Club Stands For

Our Vision:

Make our club stronger by positively supporting the Ohio State University, the Ohio State Alumni Association and our local Sandhills Alumni Club in all its social, scholarship, recruitment and community activities.

Our Mission:

Our club is dedicated to connecting alumni, friends, fellow Buckeyes and possible future Ohio State students in a lifelong, positive support of Ohio State and each other as individuals.

Strategic Goals

1. Our club will be the pathway through which alumni in our area stay connected with The Ohio State University and with each other through:

· Creating a web site that is a comprehensive, user-friendly resource for all alumni interaction;

· Creating a face book page where our club members can go to find up to date information on club activities and make comments;

· Producing a newsletter that shares OSUAA information, OSU news and local membership articles with photos of club members;

· Conducting multiple programs that facilitate alumni interaction with OSU through community service, continuing education, social events, and scholarship.

2. Our club will support the Ohio State University Alumni Association by:

· Providing a link to OSUAA’s web site with our club’s information;

· Supporting OSUAA’s news by printing news articles on-line that are important to the alumni association and the university;

· Encouraging our club members to become a part of the OSUAA and supporting their vision; and

· Attending annually the Alumni Leadership Conference in Columbus.

3. Our club will strive to build a bigger membership locally by:

· Annually conducting a membership drive promoting positive Buckeye spirit at social events, cultural events, community affairs and fundraisers;

· Using the Zip Code List provided by the OSUAA to contact other alumni living in our areas for club membership;

· Creating a web page on our web site that encourages members to renew and invites other interest individuals to join; and

· Posting a link that connects our club directly to OSUAA for membership information on becoming an alumni association member.

4. Our club will give its members the tools to influence public opinion about Ohio State within our own community and around the world by:

· Connecting directly to the OSU Alumni Association with our Board and Committee Chairs and club’s web site and Board’s contact information;

· Providing our members with a club web site and newsletter that states the names of all Board members and how they may be reached;

· Announcing club particulars and events in local papers and other media venues.

5. Our club will constantly strive to support OSU by offering to local students a chance to obtain a higher level of education by:

· Creating a positive communication between local students, our club and Ohio State;

· Participating in local student recruitment activities; and

· Raising scholarship money and awarding a scholarship annually.
